Cashew Nut

Although cashews are usually available as “cashew kernels” or “cashew nuts”, the name is actually wrong, because they are actually stone fruits. Regardless of this, cashews internationally inspire many palates with their delicate nutty taste and versatile possibilities for use in cooking.

The fruits, which come mostly from Asia and Africa, contain a low fat content compared to nuts, which is largely made up of valuable saturated fatty acids. They also contain plenty of other valuable proteins, vitamins (especially B vitamins) and minerals that are important for our body. According to studies, the amino acid L-tryptophan, for example, has a mood-lifting effect and can be converted in our brain to the happiness hormone serotonin.

In our tests with different nuts and kernels, we liked cashews in combination with chicken meat best. Also the processing and shelf life is slightly better.
